How it all started

   Welcome to the story of how I (Devon Litalien) remember falling in love with video games!

  I remember as a kid always being very impatient to get out of school so I could run home, grab a snack and race upstairs to my room to play whatever game had my attention at the time. Now I cannot remember what the very first game I played was since I’ve played so damn many but I do remember the very first console I owned was a black original Xbox. Looking back at it now, it amazes me how far technology has come. Every time a new console came out I had to have it, always begging my mom to buy it. My favourite console by far is the Xbox One X that’s where I do most of my gaming to this day.  I have also owned every day 1 version of the Xbox,  plus my personal favorite limited edition red and black Gears of War Xbox 360 until that got the red ring of death. As much as I’m into my Xbox I also spend numerous hours on my computer playing my nerd game World of Warcraft, which I can’t help but to love, and that I’ve been playing since I was young. 
   I think the reason why I became so obsessed with playing video games is for two reasons. Number one is that it always brought me and my friends together, yelling at each other or opponents through our headsets and laughing at all our dumb jokes. Number two is that it brings out my competitive side. There’s always a new game to beat, a new achievement to unlock, or a friend that I have to be better than or have a higher score than. That even includes kicking my girlfriend’s butt in Mario Kart. I will always be occupied because there’s always something new, and of course that’s what the goal is of these gaming companies is to always keep us interested. 
   I will never cease to be amazed with the way the graphics and sound effects get better with every year. I want to be a part of the making that goes into these games. I never knew this program or school existed till about a year ago, but once I stumbled on to it I knew that this was what I needed to be doing to get me where I want in life. Because how can I not turn my passion and love for these games into a career?

Vancover Video Game Companies

EA Canada Located: Burnaby They’re known for Need For Speed, Nhl, Nfl, Fifa. They focus on PC/Console Gaming. Out of all the companies I’ve researched so far EA Games would be my number one I would want to work at. This is because they seem to care about their employees the most. They have a great work environment at their location in Vancouver with a ton of different amenities like an Arcade and a giant outdoor soccer field. They also offer many benefits to their employees, the work culture at this company seems like it would be above and beyond. Regardless if as a gamer I’m not impressed with EA right now because they have ripped off their customers in the past with all microtransactions and loot boxes, I would still want to work there and as an employee and I believe I could better the company.
